Since that day in 2016 I have strived to focus more locally, more personally, since I can't do anything about politicians and what they do. It's been a balm. I don't mean to discount the tragedies going on in the world, but I can't effect change there, so staying in my little world has been much more rewarding and reduced my anxiety.
